LooknLearn was founded by David Grice, Managing Director of City Dub, (South Australia’s largest media duplicator), and Fat Trax (one of South Australia’s premier recording studios).

Having spent many years as a professional musician touring extensively throughout the world, and becoming a sought-after audio engineer and producer, David identified the lack of instructional videos for beginner musicians. He also identified that the videos that were in existence always assumed you knew something before you started. The other thing lacking in these videos was that the demonstration of the exercises were looking at the instructor front on, and the student was having to make sense of what was being demonstrated from afar, then having to reverse what they were seeing.

Working in conjunction with Max Pepper ACS (Pepper Studios), a well-respected and recognised film producer throughout Australia, a filming technique was developed to demonstrate the exercises from the point of view of the student. Being able to look at the screen as you see your instrument makes the LooknLearn lessons incredibly easy to absorb and more fun for the student.

LooknLearn is developing a series of instrument lessons using this technique, starting with the Guitar. As the months go by we will be adding more instruments to the series, so if you find your instrument isn’t available just yet, please be patient as it is likely that your instrument will be available very soon.
